What Every Parent Should Know
Researchers have been studying the effects parental attitudes and actions have on their children's academic success for more than 30 years. The results have been consistent. Anne Henderson and Nancy Berla summed it up in their book A New Generation of Evidence: The Family Is Critical to Student Achievement, which reviewed the existing research: "When parents are involved in their children's education at home, they do better in school. And when parents are involved in school, children go farther in school and the schools they go to are better."
What Help Looks Like....
"What do you need? What can I HELP with?" - Those are my favorite questions to avoid. I only avoid this question because everyone has a different thought behind how they can help out in a classroom. My hope is that through this page you will find the right fit for your time constraints and families needs to help me in some way throughout the year. I love connecting with my students families and I understand that helping out and showing appreciation comes in many different forms.

SO.....I am excited to offer you a chance to help out our classroom. Even if you can’t volunteer during the day there are other ways for you to be involved! If there is something not listed that you would like to do, please let me know.
Classroom Preparation* – This job can be done at school or at home. It can involve cutting large numbers of things, gluing, stapling, hole punching, etc.
Class Photographer* – Our photographer would need to come to our special events, take pictures, develop them and create some sort of display to hang
in the classroom.
Bulletin Board Creator – Help make visions come alive, and help update our hallway bulletin boards.
Field Trip Chaperone – Ready for travel and excitement? I can always use extra hands during our class field trip.
Play-dough Parents– Play-dough is one of the most popular centers at school, but needs to be replaced frequently and home made always last the longest.
Other Needs – If you see a need that I have not mentioned, please contact me! I would be grateful to have you help in any way that you feel will be an
asset to our students.
