Personal Life: I am a mother of one energetic little boy, Landon, who is now 5 years old. I currently live in the suburbs of Chicago, IL. During the summer we have enjoyed visiting with friends, playing outside, swimming at the local beach and spending time with family. Professional Life:I am a graduate of Northern Illinois University, where I earned my degree in Early Childhood Education with an Endorsement in Special Education. I recently completed certification that will support English Language Learners in my classroom as well. . My teaching philosophy: I believe that every child has something special and unique to offer to this world. Each child is a unique individual who needs a secure, caring, and stimulating atmosphere in which to grow and mature emotionally, intellectually, physically, and socially. I strive to promote experiences for each child that I work withso that they can grow in these areas. I recognize and honor children’s natural curiosity and desire to learn by allowing a child to explore and engage through hands-on experiences in my classroom. I value creating a sense of enjoyment about learning and the school experience so that students may grow to accept and seek challenges later in life that will advance their personal and professional development. It is my responsibility as a teacher to provide students with the environment and support that they need to grow in this way.
