Back to School Early Childhood Center—August 2017 For the next two weeks, our Back to School theme will focus on helping the children transition successfully between home and school. Whether your child is a new student or one that is returning, it is our hope that each child quickly becomes comfortable within our preschool setting and feels secure with all the new people, places, and activities in his/her life. Our Early Childhood program utilizes a Positive Behavioral Support system to teach our young students social and self management skills that are developmentally appropriate for the preschool years. Your child will be learning about what it means to be ready to learn, how to be a friend, and how to be safe at school. All of these skills depend upon ensuring that our students receive a lot of practice and acknowledgement of their accomplishments in these areas of learning! As we would like for you to know how well your child is doing with his/her learning, your child will be bringing home special tickets, cut outs, notes, stamps, etc. that will help you know to give your child extra praise. In these first 2 weeks of school, your child will be making an I Can Do It CAPE to hang up at home. Whenever your child brings home a special note, you may help him/her add it to their cape. In this way, your family can celebrate all the great learning that is happening at school!
